Haiku photo index April 21, 2008
The image above is an unretouched photo taken on a cold gray spring morning. I guess it doesn’t say much for either the camera or the photographer, but it actually turned out rather well for what I wanted it for, as an allusion to Matsuo Basho’s haiga and his crow on a bare branch haiku and honoring Basho. The haiku also reflects my own experience on April 20, 2008.

Top 10 Wired Reader Night Photos April 7, 2008

Unlike vampires, photos rarely come out at night, so kudos to the winners of our night photo contest. After two weeks of steady battle, these 10 photos have emerged victorious. Baron Von Foss won the contest with his photo “Wrong Era” at left. The Baron will be receiving a Wired T-shirt, a subscription to Wired magazine and a digital picture frame for his desk.
Since we had so many great photos that we thought should have received more votes, we’ve also compiled a Wired.com Editor’s Choice Night Photo Gallery.
Our next bi-monthly photo contest is macro photography. It’s time to get up close and personal with the world around you and make something small seem gigantic. Check out the contest page for more information.
